How On the Lip started

It was meant to be a four-day run up the coast. Three of us, a van, a window in the forecast — supposedly. By Wednesday we had a group chat with forty-seven unread messages, two screenshots of the swell model nobody agreed on, a shared note going stale, and a quiet argument about whether anyone had actually paid for the fuel.

We drove anyway. The surf was good. The admin was a nightmare.

On the way home we wrote down what we'd actually needed — a forecast the whole crew could trust, a chat that didn't lose the plan in baby photos, a running tab for the costs, and a way to find other riders when someone dropped out. Four apps, at least. None of them talked to each other. None of them understood that a surf trip is one thing, not four.

So we're building the one that does.
